Elementary Special Education Teacher (K-6)
High School Teacher(s) Algebra/Pre-Calculus; Physical Science; Western Civilization; Physics 

Employment Term Twelve month contract/Ten month school year
Reports to Principal 

BFHS Mission:  To train students to be intellectually curious - akin to the namesake of our school. Thus, our students walk with integrity and character, knowing what it is to be a thoughtful citizen in a democratic-republic and a positive force in their community.  Benjamin Franklin High School will provide to our students and for our parents rigorous, liberal arts, college preparatory education delivered in a safe, nurturing environment.
Position Objective:  While under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Teacher will plan, organize, and implement the school’s instructional program in a learning environment that motivates and guides students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support BFCS Vision, Mission, and Goals.
  • Promote and adhere to BFCS policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment focused on academic excellence. 
  • Create a learning environment that is engaging and conducive to effective instruction; maintain standards of student behavior.
  • Prepare and follow lesson plans correlated with the prescribed curriculum and pacing guides.
  • Communicate learning objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language.
  • Monitor and assess student progress; provide ongoing feedback to students and parents.
  • Use classroom and state assessment data to inform and improve instruction.
  • Participate in team reviews concerning students’ academic progress.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis to discuss students’ progress and interpret the instructional program. 
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records as required by law and school policy.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and strive to improve professional competence.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting classroom and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Participate in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences.
  • Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the school site or District.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University

  • Highly qualified or 24 credit hours in Subject Area
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Will be required to pass a criminal background check upon hire

Physical Requirements
