Chevak School is a PreK-12 grade rural school district located in Chevak, Alaska.  We have 325 students and 25 teachers, plus numerous classified staff members.   Chevak is a Cup 'ik (Chu Pick) villlage located 250 from Bethel and about 400 miles from Anchorage via air.     The teachers experience smaller class sizes, are paid a competitive salary along with benefits of medical and dental insurance, one round trip airfare to Anchorage per year, a $1,000 rural Alaska living allowance, and subsidized low cost modern housing including utilities.   Each house is fully equiped with furniture, washer/dryer, freezer, stove, and refrigerator,.  Internet and satelite TV are available at employees cost.  The people are very wery warm and friendly, and welcome outside visitors and teachers.   The community has a post office, modern water and sewer facilities, two small grocery stores, daily airfare from several regional airlines, and other businesses.   There are roads around the community and many people use four wheelers and snow machines in the winter months.  Our base starting salary for BA with no experience is $52,200.
