Job Description:

SEEKING SECONDARY TEACHERS IN THE FOLLOWING CONTENT AREAS:

PURPOSE:
To deliver instruction in a way that recognizes the special learning needs of each student in Henrico County Public Schools.  To be a facilitator of learning.  To integrate technology into mathematics instruction.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Delivers the curriculum established by the Henrico County School Board and administration
  • Plans daily instructional activities for all students.  Assess and maintain records of students' progress toward reaching goals set by the administration
  • Alters instruction to meet group and individual needs as noted by assessment results
  • Communicates with parents, students, and personnel in the division of instruction.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Take an active role in own professional development by reflecting on learning and teaching individually and with colleagues; and discussing issues in mathematics and mathematics teaching and learning with colleagues.  Use and evaluate instructional materials and resources, including technology.  Enhance mathematical discourse through the use of a variety of tools, including calculators, computers, and physical and pictorial models.  Create a learning environment that supports and encourages mathematical reasoning.

Job Requirements:

Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license in the content area to be taught.    Prior teaching experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree $48,032
