Mission:
QSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services. QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills.
Job Summary:
QSAC is looking for dedicated and energetic professionals who are passionate about teaching and making a significant difference in the lives of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. We are looking for NYS Certified Special Education Teachers to create reinforcing, structured learning environments using the principles of applied behavior analysis.
QSAC also has part time SEIT and SETSS opportunities for Special Education Teachers.
We provide extensive support, training and opportunities for growth both professionally and within the agency.
Opportunities are available in the Bronx, Whitestone, and Douglaston Queens.
Job Requirements:
Job responsibilities:
Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions
Supervise Teaching Assistants/Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions
Implement and adhere to IEP/Student Program
Apply data collection and behavior management interventions and reinforcement procedures in accordance with each child’s behavior management plan and program policy
Meet with parents to discuss student progress
Punctuality and regular attendance is expected
