TEACHER, ENGLISH –Full Time 9-12 Grades

Job Goal
Support selected English program through demonstration of lessons, modeling and direct explanation of teaching strategies.  This support may include coordination and implementation of English programs.
 
Provide assessment for individual students to support the classroom learning.
 
Duties of the classroom teacher are as follows:
 
  1. To establish, in cooperation with the Executive Director or his/her designee (or designated by the collective bargaining agreement), goals and objectives consistent with the evaluation article of the collective bargaining agreements.
  2. Comply with all laws and regulations of the State of California, policy and rules of the Charter and it’s Board, and terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement, which include but are not limited to the following:
  1. being present on campus during contractually designated time;
  2. attending job-related meetings and activities;
  3. submitting accurate forms, reports and other required documents;
  4. complying with mandatory child abuse reporting laws;
  5. adhering to State adopted curriculum and standards
  1. while on site is responsible to the site administrator for the care, control, and instruction of the students in his/her charge.
  2. to report promptly to the Executive Director (or his/her designee) any serious accident or illness affecting students.
  3. to respect the individuality of the children
  4. to maintain conditions and practices in the classrooms which positively affect the physical and mental health of the children.
  5. to report promptly to the Executive Director (or his/her designee) any factors which prevent the full exercise of duties and responsibilities.
  6. to keep abreast of current innovative educational practices and curriculum trends so as to be in a position to participate in policy-making processes and curriculum revision
  7. To enforce all rules governing the conduct of pupils as may be prescribed by the Executive Director and the Board, as well as those developed cooperatively by the Executive Director and the faculty.
  8. to work cooperatively with employees of the charter and the community.
  9. provide and maintain adequate lesson plans and instructions for substitute teachers.
 
Maintain a valid teaching credential required for the position and a valid driver’s license.

  • Intern qualified 
  • Tuberculosis clearing - within the last 4 years
