TEACHER- SPECIAL SERVICES 
 
JOB SUMMARY
As assigned by the Special Services Team and under the supervision of the Special Services Manager, the Teacher will provide temporary assistance to an Early Learning setting to implement program activities encompassing all curriculum content areas as well as the daily needs of the children in the Early Learning Program. Works one on one with children who have special needs, making sure their needs are met.
 
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have the minimum of an Associate Degree in early childhood education or equivalent. Bachelor’s in ECE or related is preferred.
  • Must have 1 to 3 years of experience working with children in an Early Learning inclusive environment
  • Must demonstrate an ability to understand and meet the needs of young children. Should be comfortable in setting limits for children, as well as encouraging individual creativity.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with adults as a member of a classroom team.
  • Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.
  • Must have well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass criminal record and fingerprint check. Physical required.  Must be able to lift a child that weighs 20 lbs. or more.
