Sheppard Pratt School- Rockville is a year round non-public special education program that serves elementary, middle, and high school students with emotional and behavioral disorders and Autism spectrum disorders. The program utilizes a therapeutic community where special education, social skills, and counseling are integrated within the milieu. Students are taught communication, personal accountability, problem solving, social skills, and relationship building skills through social skills groups and counseling.
As a Special Education Teacher you will:
- Teach language arts, math, science, social studies and/or other area contents as needed.
- Be responsible for the academic teaching and behavioral management of assigned students.
- Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific student needs in instruction and create appropriate learning environment in classroom setting.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on students' progress.
- Attend and participate in meetings.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the school staff.

The pay range for this position is $60,000 minimum - $108,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
