Middle School Science TeacherDr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School, located in Jersey City, NJ seeks an experienced full-time Science Teacher who is passionate about engaging, motivating and working with students. We are seeking someone who will meet the educational development needs of students. Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who are have a strong math background and are confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum.
The successful candidate must be capable of facilitating whole group and small group instruction based on data. Must be able to teach to the NJ Student Learning Standards and be familiar with utilizing solid culturally relevant behavior management skills.
Major Responsibilities: The teacher is responsible for students assigned and the day-to-day activities that move student behavior and learning to the highest standards of excellence and performance. At Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School, our teachers implement strategies so that every student realizes his/her full educational potential; design and implement the activities that will provide for the educational success of every student; communicate positively and frequently with her/his professional colleagues, with each student, and with the parents of our students. We are serious about guiding our students to personal and academic success. Our teachers serve as a mentor, coach, role model, and adult supervisor of children placed under his/her care and responsibility.

Reporting directly to the School Principal or Assistant Principal, all Teachers are responsible for students in class, anywhere in the building and/ or on School grounds. She/he will confer frequently with grade level colleagues and Cluster Leader.
