Certified Teachers Needed

The Sunshine Developmental School is looking for energetic and creative Certified Teachers in Students with Disabilities B-2 and Certified Teaching Assistants to work with our 3-5 year old preschoolers in our Bronx, Queens & Brooklyn locations. Candidates can also hold an internship certification in SWD B-2.
· Supplemental or Bilingual Extension required for Bilingual classes.

Bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Social Worker Needed

Sunshine Developmental School has an opening for a Bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Social Worker. We are a CPSE program located in Jamaica, Queens providing therapeutic services to children ages 3-5. Candidate will work closely with a team of experienced teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, OT's and PT's. Job duties include: conduct Social Histories/Parent Interviews, attend IEP meetings, serve as liaison between parents, teachers and therapists, maintain communication with district administrators, monitor students' attendance, attend weekly team/classroom meetings, participate in conferences, etc.

Job Requirements:


Certified Teachers Needed
Coordinate and make sure weekly team meetings and classroom meetings are taking place to discuss specific issues, student progress and update team members regarding relevant information about students.
Coordinate necessary paperwork. This includes attendance, lesson plans, daily health log, progress/annual reports, etc... Proper notifications and alerts are posted.
Be knowledgeable in SDS students’ IEPs and establish methods to meet goals within classroom environment. Ensure that all students are receiving mandated services.
Need to update IEP goals 3/4 times a year in the form of quarterly reports and send to parents and district.
Write current progress reports and SMART IEP goals. Write annual goals, behavioral objectives and intervention strategies corresponding with assessment in consultation with other disciplines.
Conduct regular observations and document in student portfolios.
Communicate with families on a regular basis regarding classroom activities, suggestions for home activities via children’s communication notebook or phone calls, conferences.
Conduct CPSE/CSE meetings and make sure paperwork is accurate.
Attend weekly teachers’ meeting and follow through on information presented. Also, read the weekly supervisors’ minutes as well as check e-mail daily for up to date information.
