Job Description:
Courage Schools, Inc. seeks a culturally competent and culturally responsive faculty member who has a passion for working with children and is always seeking new ways to meet the needs of their students. Courage is committed to educating students in Kindergarten through 6th grade with language-based learning differences. The goal of Courage Schools, Inc. is to enrich the inherent gifts these students bring to the classroom while supporting their language development through a multisensory approach. About the Role
Works closely with the Lead Classroom Teacher to collaboratively plan lessons in all subject areas with staff as necessary to do so effectively
Sets up for the day’s activities
Leads class when the Classroom Teacher is absent and/or involved in collaborative planning or meetings
Works in collaboration with support personnel (Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and STEAM teacher)
Works with students in whole groups, small groups or individually during classroom learning experiences, and encourage individual students as prescribed by the Classroom Teacher
Performs administrative/class related duties to support the classroom, including but not limited to: making copies and grading papers, creating bulletin boards, and other duties as determined by the Classroom Teacher
Assists students with time management and organizational skills as directed by the Classroom Teacher
Attends all grade-level, departmental and required School meetings, as well as organize and attend Parent Night
Performs occasional duties, as requested by the Head of School which may include, but not limited to, lunch duty and recess duties.
This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary is dependent upon education, training, and experience and is commensurate with other independent schools in the area.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must have the ability to teach, but should also possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent
Training in structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell) preferred
Experience working with and teaching students with language-based learning differences
Comfort working in a highly collaborative environment where ideas/suggestions/ and risk taking are encouraged.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
