Manville School, since opening in 1957, has continuously been recognized as a leader of special needs day schools in the Boston area. Manville provides educational services for up to 115 students from kindergarten through 10th grade and has approximately 100 educational, clinical and counseling staff members. SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER:
Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking Special Education Teachers. You will be leading a three-person multidisciplinary classroom team with an assistant teacher and behavioral counselor.  Plan and implement curriculum, write IEP’s and quarterly reports, direct the classroom management and organization as well as mentor the assistant teacher. Participate in specialized trainings and on-going professional meetings. Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment and engage in professional development opportunities that will enrich your knowledge.

Positions available for Grades K-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8, and Grades 9-10.

 

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Skills:
  • B.A. or M.Ed / M.S.Ed in Special Education
  • Massachusetts certification in Moderate Special Needs
  • Minimium of 2 years experience teaching in a school setting with a similar student population
  • Understands the impact of social/emotional, behavioral, neurological, and learning challenges on student functioning and development
  • Knowledge of Common Core State Standards
  • Experience writing IEPs
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members across professional disciplines
  • Ability to actively participate in professional development opportunities and individual supervision
