Responsibilities:- Uphold the mission and vision of Mission Prep
- Create and implement rigorous, standards-aligned, objective-driven instructional plans and assessments
- Work as a member of the Special Education Team to provide services in order to help students with IEPs reach their
goals - Maintain student performance data in school tracking systems
- Consult and articulate with faculty and parents via meetings, phone and email regarding the needs and progress
of students - Create and maintain notifications, records, files, and reports as required by federal, state and SELPA regulations
- Analyze and use data to inform and adjust instruction
- Provide individualized, differentiated instruction to students with IEPs for the purpose of developing appropriate
academic and interpersonal skills - Teach and enforce school-wide systems, routines, and expectations
- Implement classroom and school-wide family communication systems
- Participate actively in professional development and professional learning communities
- Use feedback and observations to improve performance
- Complete administrative and operational duties in accordance with school needs and deadlines
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid/Current- Mild/ Moderate Teaching Credential
- Intern eligible considered for those that have met the intern program prerequisites to enroll in a program
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational capacity
- Experience analyzing and using data to inform practice
- Openness to feedback and commitment to developing continually as a professional educator
- Accountability for student achievement outcomes
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Urban teaching experience
Start Date:August 2021
Time Commitment:This position is 1.0 FTE (full-time exempt) and follows a 11-month work year with significant student-free days for professional learning and collaboration with colleagues and interaction with families. All instructional staff will report in late July/early August, 2021 (exact calendar TBD).
Common Teacher Hours: All teachers are expected to maintain hours of 7:40 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. M, Tu, Th, Fri and 7:40 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. on Wednesdays for Professional Development, with occasional needs during evenings and weekends (e.g., Parent-Teacher Conferences, Community Events).
Salary and Compensation:Salary scales are based on years of experience and expertise. Scales are competitive with other charter school organizations and local districts.
