The Grace School is truly unique as is the only fully inclusive K-8 school program for students with severe disabilities in the United States.  We foster both academic excellence and individual growth in children of all abilities.  Our inclusive classrooms combine rigorous academics with a culture of compassion.

About this Role:

All classrooms in the Grace School follow a co-teaching model, with a General Education Teacher and a Special Education Teacher partnering to deliver a lesson that is inclusive for both typical learners and students with disabilities.  Teachers are responsible for supervising and instructing Teacher Assistants and other collaborative staff.

Job Requirements:

General Education Teacher:

  • Bachelors Degree in Education or related field
  • Certification from the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Teacher in Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades or Secondary Education
  • Experience teaching in an inclusive environment preferred
Special Education Teacher:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education
  • Certification from the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) in Special Education Certification
  • RIDE Severe/Profound disabilities endorsement strongly preferred, Mild/Moderate disabilities endorsement acceptable with willingness to pursue Severe/Profound (tuition reimbursement offered)
