~We provide early intervention and preschool programs for children birth to 5 years of age with, or at risk for, developmental delays. Our services are provided at no cost to families.We recognize that each child is unique and strive to provide individualized instruction incorporating a variety of established strategies to meet their needs.Our programs allow for typically developing children to thrive as well. Every child has distinctive strengths and needs and all flourish in a dynamic environment where individualized instruction is the norm. NYL takes a collaborative approach to maximizing each child's potential and encourages parents' participation. Staff and parent training ensures that our community is informed about state-of-the-art practices.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and/or individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Progress Reports for each child in your assigned group.
Prepare appropriate curricula for each child IEP and/or IFSP.
Prepare of weekly lesson plans reflecting IEP and/or IFSP goals and alignment with NYS Common Core Standards.
Participate in education conferences with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings.
Participate in general staff meetings, when appropriate.
Meet with parents as necessary and incorporate parents in classroom activities for children.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Maintain assigned classroom in an orderly and clean appearance and organize your assigned classroom to maximize is conduciveness as a learning and growth environment for assigned students.
Supervise Teacher Assistants, Interns and Student Teachers.
Perform your responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department under the supervision of your supervisor.
