One Hope United Child Development Centers cater to the individual needs of each community, child and family in our care. We nurture children’s growth and partner with parents to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. Our centers use the Creative Curriculum, through which teachers design a classroom environment that includes learning centers such as blocks, dramatic play, art, library, math and science, sand and water, music and movement, cooking, literacy and computers. Through active involvement with this environment, children learn to understand the world around them, make choices and explore through hands-on activities.
Also, our Healthy Lifestyles curriculum brings nature and sustainable living concepts into the classroom by emphasizing exercise, healthy routines, nutritional practices and environmental awareness. Daily indoor or outdoor activities that promote this philosophy are embedded into our school readiness program through experiences such as cooking, maintaining center gardens and creatively using recycled material. Field trips and events encouraging family participation are part of the curriculum at all One Hope United child development centers.
We implement the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) philosophy in our School Age programs, using hands-on activities and problem-solving to enhance academic performance.
One Hope United’s centers also incorporate group activities to build language and social skills, while time in the gym or at the playground strengthens their bodies. We believe in nurturing each child’s mind, body and soul.
