The mission of World Journalism Preparatory school is to prepare every child for success in collage and life through the power and control of language. Through the pursuit of answers to learner curiosities, students defend and support informed opinion through writing, thoughtful discussion, purposeful reading and analysis for full participation in the global community and American democracy.


World Journalism Preparatory is a secondary school with 611 students from grade 6 through grade 12. The school population comprises 6% Black, 25% Hispanic, 51% White, and 17% Asian students. The student body includes 0.6% English language learners and 20% special education students. Boys account for 40% of the students enrolled and girls account for 60%. 

We are seeking highly qualified special education teachers who are certified in grades 7-12. Preference given to teachers with a strong knowledge of high school Mathematics. We are a small high performing 6-12 school located in the Flushing/Bayside area of Queens.
