Lady Liberty Academy Charter School was established in 2001 and is a public school that services grades K to 8. Lady Liberty is home to approximately 465 students and is located on Sanford Ave. in Newark's West Ward. We are a public institution that services all students in Newark along with the surrounding areas. The Lady Liberty Academy mission is to have all children be active learners who participate in constructing knowledge and understanding; and to provide them with the necessary resources and learning opportunities so they can transform their thoughts into concrete tools that can be used to shape and control their environment. We accomplish our mission in a number of ways:  by creating a strong community, having high expectations for every student, and having the efficacious mindset of “Work hard, get smart;” which together are the centerpieces of our school community.  Lady Liberty Academy Charter School is a respectful, responsible, and caring community of students, families, staff and partners. We strive to be progressive learners and leaders who believe that every child has the right to an education that prepares them to be responsible citizens.
