Tuba City Unified School District serves approximately 1,700 students in grades K-12. The District serves a number of smaller communities. Tuba City is located on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona, U.S.A. The Hopi Village of Mungapi is located one mile south of Tuba City. Mungapi is a major gateway to the Hopi Indian Reservation. Located about 75 miles northeast of Flagstaff, Arizona, Tuba City’s elevation is about 5,000 feet. Summers are warm and sunny, winters are relatively mild with a small amount of snow each year. Area scenic attractions include the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park, Glen Canyon Dam/Lake Powell, Navajo National Monument, and the world famous Monument Valley. All scenic attractions are an average distance of 80 miles from Tuba City.
