Classical Charter Schools prepares scholars for the future by providing them with an excellent education rooted in the classics. We define our mission as, “preparing scholars through a classical curriculum and highly structured setting to become liberated citizens of impeccable character.” A future in which all scholars in the South Bronx can access the opportunities that support their ambitions is exactly what we have in mind.When we were founded in 2006, we set out to prepare tens of thousands of students for the future by giving them an education rooted in the Classics. More than a decade later, Classical Charter Schools has four schools across the Bronx, serving over 1,000 kids in grades K-8. Today, we regularly outperform 97% of district and charter schools in New York City on NYS Exams, which is one reason why we’re one of the only schools anywhere to have won four Blue Ribbon Awards in 2014 and 2019 from the U.S. Department of Education and be nominated for a third in 2020 and a fourth in 2022. As a public charter school, we’re delivering an elite education – for free – for students who need it most in the South Bronx.
