iBRAIN is a non-profit private school currently based in Manhattan for students with brain injuries and brain-based disorders. Our mission is to research, develop and implement special education and related services for students with brain injury and brain-based disorders.
iBRAIN provides a multitude of therapeutic and educational services as our students are some of the most medically complicated, non-verbal, non-ambulatory children. Each child receives between 15-20 hours of therapy services per week throughout the school year. The student to para ratio is 1:1 as opposed to 3 students per every 1 para in a public school. The student to teacher ratio ranges between 6-8 students per 1 teacher. We are seeing amazing progress. A third of our students require 1:1 nursing due to their medical complications.
As we continue to grow, some of our goals include expansion to include an out-patient Article 28 clinic, early intervention, pre-K, post-21 services, as well as continued development of our research department for the brain injury and brain-based disorders community.
Patrick, the founder and CEO, created a non-profit law firm, Brain Injury Rights Group, to advocate as pro-bono counsel to secure funding from the school district for each family.
