The Master of Science in Education degree program fulfills academic requirements for Professional Certification in New York State, for students who already have Initial Teaching Certification. Students enjoy separate tracks for grades 1-6, and grades 7-12. Adolescent teachers also fulfill requirements for the Middle School Extension, grades 5-6. The Hybrid format of this program is primarily online, with two long weekends on campus in each of two consecutive Summer semesters. The Master of Art in Teaching leads to dual certification for NYS Adolescent Education in a content area (History, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, French, Spanish, or English) plus Certification as Special Education Generalist. Dual certification makes you a more versatile, employable teacher. Courses are all on campus for this degree.
