Company Description:

Denver Language School (DLS) is a free, early total immersion K-8 public school in Denver, Colorado. We are one school, but have two campuses: our K-4 campus is at 451 Newport Street, Denver, CO 80220 and our 5-8 campus is at 2949 California Street, Denver, CO 80205. We serve approximately 900 students. The school is authorized by Denver Public Schools and opened in 2010 as a K-2, adding a grade every year until we were a K-8. Our first class of 8th graders continued in 2017. 

Our mission is “Academic excellence and intercultural competence through language immersion education.” We are the only early total immersion K-8 model offering Spanish and Chinese in Denver. We are committed to executing our educational model with fidelity and integrity; early total immersion is a powerful data-driven and researched based model that yields remarkable results. 

SY 22-23 will be our 13th year in operation. While we are still growing in some ways, we are incredibly proud of our successes as well. DLS has had increasing enrollment every year, and we are the number one school of choice in DPS. Our middle school ranks in the Top Ten in DPS, and we have received awards from the Governor’s Office and the Colorado Department of Education for our high academic performance and impressive WIDA scores. We are the only middle school to offer the Spanish and Chinese AP exam to our 8th grade students.
