Oakland Charter High School’s mission is to provide a rigorous college preparatory education and character development program that will prepare students from underserved communities to succeed in college and beyond. Located in the heart of the vibrant Fruitvale district of Oakland, OCHS is the number one public high school in Oakland and among the top 100 high schools in the State of California. Our students primarily come from Oakland’s Fruitvale and Chinatown districts. Over 90% of our students are considered socio-economically disadvantaged, and nearly all of them will be first-generation college students. We are an intentionally small school, with a student population of just over 450. Being small in size affords us the opportunity to work in close partnership with all students and their families.
