At New Heights Charter School of Brockton (NHCSB), we believe that every child should be given the opportunity to succeed. New Heights is Massachusetts’ first “Early College” public school that prepares all students to earn free, transferable college credits while in high school. All of our scholars will have the opportunity to graduate from high school with at least 12 college credits. Our goal is that half of our graduates will have earned enough credits for an Associate’s Degree from Massasoit Community College. We are the first public school in Massachusetts to set such high goals, but we are confident we can reach them! We strive to close achievement gaps, build social and emotional skills, and address the needs of all learners. New Heights employs a comprehensive approach to the needs of our English Learners (ELs), and an inclusion approach to special education with high levels of classroom support. Our 6-8 grade students attend the Middle School with a primary focus on developing the academic and social-emotional skills to put them on the road to college and career. High School students can begin taking college courses. We seek to create a community, partnering with parents to ensure they have an open line of communication to teachers, including regular parent meetings.
