Company Description:

Twin Towers Middle School is one of two middle schools in the Enlarged City School District of Middletown located in Middletown, New York.  The school serves a population of approximately 1,000 culturally and economically diverse students in grades six, seven and eight.  According to the latest available ethnic data, 12% of the students are white, 22% are Black, 60% are Hispanic, and 2% are Asian.  Approximately 13% of the students have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).  Additionally, 20% of the students are English as a New Language (ENL) learners (ENL), with Spanish as the dominant language among the vast majority.  The majority of students are from low-income families, with 80% qualifying for free or reduced lunch.  The student attendance rate is 93%.

The school houses two teaching teams at each grade level.  The average class size is 30.   The majority of the students are heterogeneously grouped within each grade.  Accelerated classes are offered in math, English, Social Studies and science at all three grade levels and accelerated Spanish is offered in the eighth grade.  Students with IEPs receive the full continuum of services including self-contained 15:1, 8:1:1, and 12:1:1 classes, inclusion classes, resource room, and related services such as speech and language, and counseling.  In addition to our ENL program, there is a Dual Language program in 6^th grade and bilingual classes are provided at each grade level in math and science.  Academic intervention services (AIS) are offered in reading and math.

The student body is served by 120 professionals and support staff, including a principal, a Dean of Students (assistant principal), 79 teachers, 3 school counselors, a psychologist, 16 paraprofessionals, a nurse, and 7 clerical staff.
