Who is Enriched Schools?

Enriched is a community talent hub that supports student learning across the country. We connect schools with awesome flexible staff: substitute teachers, enrichment instructors, coaches and more. We are on a mission to eliminate loss of student learning due to teacher absence, and we do so by tapping into the power of community.

Enriched believes that the "sub day" is an opportunity to ignite passions in kids and push learning forward, not leave them 2 steps behind. Enriched believes all schools deserve committed partners to help them provide diverse adult role models for their students, as well as resources for sustainability (like access to quality, on-demand coverage options, candidates for mid-year vacancies, etc.) to help their teachers and leaders thrive.

What is a Guest Educator and what does one do?

A Guest Educator is a passionate, professional substitute teacher. As an Enriched Guest Educator ("GE"), you will serve as a highly qualified, highly impactful, flexible substitute teacher, embodying excellence, impact and delight at all times for our partner schools and students.

What can a Guest Educator expect if hired?

Cohort members will be able to indicate their preferred frequency of teaching (1-3 times/week on average), as well as desired grade level and content area. You will receive selective opportunities to enrich at schools in Indianapolis, IN in content and grade level areas of your expertise, and on days that work for your schedule. You will have the opportunity to both bring your own unique specialty and guest lessons, as well as serve as an "A Team" pinch hitter who is able to pick up a teacher's lesson plan or jump right in to support a school partner where they need us most.

What kind of person is the ideal Guest Educator?

• You are a local leader with 2+ years of teaching experience (preferred, but not required), including leading students to top levels of achievement, who is actively seeking or open to flexible work.
• You have glowing references from your prior colleagues and school leaders alike.
• You believe that a school is a place of empowerment, engagement and inspiration, and that all children can learn and achieve at the highest levels.
• You are relentlessly positive and go above and beyond to ensure your time with young people is marked with insanely high levels of engagement and enduring impact.
• You are an improv guru who is flexible and adaptable, quick on your feet and ready to do whatever it takes to be a part of a team working towards student success.
• You are charismatic and can instantly command a room with your powerful, calm presence and effective communication skills and ability to build sincere, authentic rapport with youth.
• You love teaching and want to do it in a way that is sustainable for you.

What qualities are you looking for in a Guest Educator?

• Flexible and adaptable: you are able to improvise and are up for anything, including quickly adjusting plans on the fly and jumping right in to help the team
• Influence and motivate others: you have awesome classroom management and can quickly build strong, authentic rapport with students
• Reliably professional: you are always early, show up with a demeanor and dress of impeccable professional sense, and you represent yourself and Enriched with the highest levels integrity
• Execute with excellence: you are an incredible teacher that can deliver a lesson plan, whether yours or a pre-existing one, with strong pacing and urgency, differentiation and high levels of student engagement

So what are the nuts and bolts?

Compensation: Pay is a competitive $100/day

Hours: Full day substitute "enriching" jobs are typically 6-9 hours/day, with start and end times varying from our partner school sites.

Duration: While many jobs are daily, some may extend for several days or weeks. You get to tell us what works best for you.

Locations: Substitutes have the option of receiving daily job offers from our partner schools all throughout the region, or they may work only at schools convenient to them or only on days they pre-schedule in advance.
