How does it work?
The Summit Learning Teacher Residency is a one-year program based in the San Francisco Bay Area, during which you are immersed in Summit classrooms four days per week while also completing credentialing coursework leading to a California Single Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential.

Residents in our program are paired with a Cooperating Teacher in a Summit Public Schools site throughout the Bay Area for a full school year. Residents gradually work up to independently teaching one class section for the second semester. Residents’ learning experiences and coursework mirror Summit’s personalized learning approach which include engaging in project-based curriculum that is competency-based, self-directed, and student-centered. Residents in our program receive a living stipend, and pay a tuition for the program. More information on the living stipend, tuition and available scholarships can be found "here".
