Cabarrus County Schools is located minutes east of Charlotte, NC and our district boasts beautiful rural areas and thriving urban areas. Our central location in the state gives residents quick access to our beaches and mountains. A two to three hour drive will allow you to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains and a three-hour drive east will place you at the scenic beaches. Within the Charlotte Metro area, there are theaters, museums, parks and restaurants. Charlotte is also home many professional sports such as the Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Hornets, and Nascar’s Charlotte Motor Speedway and Nascar’s Hall of Fame.
Cabarrus County Schools is the 9th largest school district in North Carolina with a student enrollment of approximately 33, 000 children. We employ over 4,000 people. Our district operates 40 schools, ranging from Pre-K to Early College High Schools. We have 20 elementary schools, 7 traditional middle schools, 7 traditional high schools, 1 preschool, 1 non-traditional middle school and 3 non-traditional high schools. All 40 schools have wireless access. We offer students a broad range of educational opportunities and experiences. Everything from a time-tested, traditional education to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), International Baccalaureate, and career and technical education options to world languages, early college, fine arts, and gifted education to athletics, exceptional children, global studies, and language immersion is available for students – clearly setting us apart.
